1. Information We Collect
When you use Dateup, we collect the following information:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo provided through Google Sign-In.
- Photos you upload: Images you submit for enhancement, background removal, or profile review.
- Usage data: How you interact with our features (e.g., number of enhancements, reviews).
- Free photo score: If you use the free photo score without an account, we keep only the score, the time, and a hashed version of your IP address for rate limiting (see section 4).
- Payment information: Processed securely by our payment provider (Dodo Payments). We do not store your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide AI photo enhancement, chat assistance, and profile review services.
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To improve our services and user experience.
- To communicate important updates about your account.
3. AI Processing
Photos and screenshots you upload are sent to third-party AI providers (xAI, OpenAI) for processing. These providers process your images to generate results and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
4. What Happens to Your Uploads
- Photo enhancements: your original photo and the enhanced version are stored on Supabase cloud storage so you can see and download them in your Gallery. A daily cleanup job permanently deletes both about 15 days after the photo was created. You can delete a photo sooner from the Gallery, which removes both versions. Download anything you want to keep before then.
- Profile reviews: the photos you submit are sent to our AI provider for analysis and are not saved to our storage. We keep the written review (score and tips) in your history.
- Free photo score (no account): on Rate my dating photo, your browser shrinks the photo before upload, and our server holds it in memory only long enough to send it to our AI provider (OpenAI) for the score. It is never written to our storage, database or logs. For rate limiting we keep only the score number, the time, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address (never the IP itself). These records are deleted after 30 days. Share links and share images contain the score number only, never your photo.
- Openers: the profile screenshot is sent to our AI provider to write suggestions and is not saved to our storage after processing. We keep the suggested openers in your history.
- Account deletion: deleting your account from Settings removes your stored photos and your account data.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their marketing. We share data only with:
- AI service providers (for photo processing)
- Payment processors (for subscription management)
- Cloud infrastructure providers (for hosting and storage)
- Analytics providers (to understand how the site is used, see Cookies below)
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through your account settings.
- Delete your photos from the Gallery at any time.
- Delete your entire account from Settings.
- Cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.
7. Cookies and Analytics
We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management. We also use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Vercel Analytics) to understand how people use the site, and some of these set their own cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Google OAuth, and encrypted data storage.
9. Children
Dateup is for adults 18 and over and is not directed to children under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used Dateup or that a photo of a minor was uploaded, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through your registered email or a notice on our website.
